Useful: Fluid App (OS X)

If you are—like me—a person who surfs trough the interweb with multiple tabs or even browsers open, to keep your favourite websites ready, to quickly check them if you need to, then you might want to have a look at → Fluid.

In short, Fluid is an application that lets you create your own web browser and has several settings to adjust it to your personal needs. Lets say you wrote and article for a blog in the browser or where uploading pictures on flickr and suddenly the browser crashes, because you were visiting a site with a bad flash error or something else. Everything you have done so far is gone! You have to start over. This happened to me quite a few times now and I even started to use Firefox and Safari at the same time. Firefox for surfing and Safari for blogging or uploading. Now I am using Fluid as my secondary browser. The good thing about Fluid is, that it is letting you create endless seperate browsers. You can even apply one of the browsers to the menu bar to have quick access to a website of you choice. I have done this with my Mint web application to have an overview on my website statistics in a glance.

Another quite useful implementation is that it creates thumbnail previews for websites such as google.com or flickr.com. This way you are able to skip search results of which you think, might be not the exact thing you were looking for. Which is shortening the time you spend on online research, because of false or inaccurate search results.
